Trainings
#101: Cisgender Cultural Fluency
CNET’s #101: Cisgender Cultural Fluency training is the tried-and-true workhorse of cis education! Dynamically co-presented by Stacy Fatemi and Charlie Alexander, this presentation covers everything you need to know from the ground up, including who cis people are, why it’s important to know about them, and how we can all be better advocates for our cisgender communities. This 101 is an excellent go-to for any human who needs their pre-existing conceptions about the world reaffirmed.
#123: School Best Practices for Cis & Non-trans Students
Did you know that cisgender children make up the largest proportion of the school population? In this training, you can learn about all the special considerations necessary for making the cis school experience better, like maintaining the status quo, and keeping things the way they are!
#178: Gender Inside the Binary
The gender binary is made up of men and women. So, what is it really like to be a binary person? Are there ways that binary people are excluded from things like bathroom signage and clothes shopping? Nope! Let's do a whole fucking training about it anyways, though.
#202: Have Your Cis Intersectionality and Eat It Too
The framework of intersectionality has proved instrumental in describing how the multiplicity of identities one may hold—privileged or marginalized—influence the ways that they're able to move through the world. Let's pay lip service to it in this training, and then completely ignore the transness that so many feminists have devoted their lives to including in it!
#234: Maintaining the Binary in the English Language
The English we use every day is full of gender. With titles like "Mr." and "Mrs.", forms of address like "sir" and "ma'am", and even phrases like "you guys", we reinforce a gender binary in the subtlest of ways. So, in this workshop, let's figure out how to do nothing about that!
#249: Gender Inculcation with Young People
From a young age, we're all raised in specific gender roles that impact our entire lives. In fact, the presence of strong gender roles are a leading contributor to gender-based violence. Want to figure out how to make it worse? So do we! In this interactive workshop, we'll go through additional ways we can inculcate young folks into their pre-existing gender roles, fall back on stereotypes, and even intensify our expectations of arbitrary gendered performances!
